Song Class - Put your records on

1. Fill in the gaps with these words:
Records, dreams, boys, summer, strange, jeans

Put Your Records On
Corinne Bailey Rae
Three little birds, sat on my window
And they told me I don't need to worry.
_________ (1) came like cinnamon, so sweet,
Little girls double-dutch on the concrete.

Maybe sometimes,
We’ve got it wrong, but it's alright.
The more things seem to change,
the more they stay the same.
Oh, don't you hesitate.

Girl, put your ________ (2) on,
tell me your favorite song.
You go ahead, let your hair down.
Sapphire and faded _________ (3),
I hope you get your _________(4)
Just go ahead, let your hair down.
You're gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.

Blue as the sky,
sunburnt and lonely.
Sipping tea in the bar by the road side.
(just relax, just relax)
Don't you let those other_______ (5) fool you.
Gotta love that afro hairdo.

Maybe sometimes,
we feel afraid, but it's alright.
The more you stay the same,
the more they seem to change.
Don't you think it's ________ (6)?

Girl, put your ________ (2) on,
tell me your favorite song.
You go ahead, let your hair down.
Sapphire and faded________ (3),
I hope you get your_______  (4)       .
Just go ahead, let your hair down.
You're gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.

Just more than I could take,
pity for pity's sake.
Some nights kept me awake,
I thought that I was stronger.
When you gonna realize,
that you don't even have to try any longer?
Do what you want to.

Girl, put your_______ (2) on,
tell me your favorite song.
You go ahead, let your hair down.(go let your hair down)
Sapphire and faded _______(3),
I hope you get your_______(4).(hope get your ______(4)
Just go ahead, let your hair down. (Baby, let your hair down)

Girl, put your ______ (2) on,
tell me your favorite song.

A short biography

Corinne was born and raised in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, to a Yorkshire Mother and a West Indian Father, being the eldest of their 3 daughters. Corinne married a sax player 4 years ago at the age of 22 and likes bands such as Magic Numbers and Bloc Party. This enchanting 26-year old is due to release her debut album on EMI Records on 27th February 2006. Corinne started singing harmonies to traditional hymns at church on Sunday. Her youth leader saw her potential and offered to buy her an electric guitar, which she gracefully accepted. Studying classical violin whilst still at school, Corinne listened to indie influences such as Veruca Salt and L7 and during her teens, her favourite band was Led Zeppelin, a group that she says inspired her to make her own music. This she did and Corinne started her own indie band called “Helen” at the age of 15 and began attracting fans locally in and around her hometown of Leeds
